Russian Tea Recipe
Russian tea is a traditional beverage known for its rich flavor and aromatic spices. It’s often served in a samovar, but you can easily make it at home with just a teapot. Here’s a simple recipe for a classic Russian tea.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups water
- 2 black tea bags (such as English Breakfast or Earl Grey)
- 1 tablespoon dried rose hips
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2-3 cloves
- 1-2 tablespoons honey or sugar (to taste)
- Lemon slices (optional)
Instructions:
Boil Water:
- In a kettle or saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
Prepare the Tea:
- In a teapot, place the black tea bags, dried rose hips, cinnamon stick, and cloves.
Steep the Tea:
- Pour the boiling water over the tea and spices.
- Let it steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.
Sweeten:
- Remove the tea bags and spices.
- Stir in honey or sugar to taste.
Add Lemon:
- Add a slice of lemon to each cup if desired.
Serve:
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Tips:
- Rose Hips: Rose hips add a subtle tartness and are rich in vitamin C. If you don’t have dried rose hips, you can omit them or use rose hip tea bags.
- Spice Variations: Feel free to adjust the amount of cinnamon and cloves based on your taste preference. You can also add a few cardamom pods for extra flavor.
Enjoy your aromatic and comforting Russian tea!
